The Antique Hunter’s Guide to Murder by C.L.Miller
I bought this book because I liked the title and found it engaging and entertaining. The characters are strong and there’s a mysterious life-changing event from twenty years earlier that is a recurring teaser. It’s a quick, light read and I learned a little about antiques along the way, though it was skillfully done.
I’m curious about when this trend of having each chapter from a different character’s perspective became so popular. Ordinarily I dislike this approach to writing. It was a vague irritant here for me, but the story approachable enough that I didn’t abandon it with sighs and profanity before completion. This will never be a favourite literary format for me. That said, I’ll read her next in the series, and she’ll certainly continue this as a series and probably do very well with it.
